Who we are
Ultrasound Music Ltd is the controller responsible for your personal information when you use this website or sign up for our emails. Our address is 86–90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, use our support form or write to us at the address above. You can also unsubscribe directly using the link in our emails.
Email updates and show interests
When you sign up, we collect your email address and your choice to receive curated live music recommendations and event updates. Signup is optional; you do not need to subscribe to browse the website.
For a show signup, we record the artist, show year and city as interest tags in Mailchimp. The city is the event location, not your home address. General newsletter signups receive a Website source tag. We use these interests to select relevant music updates. This does not involve automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Our legal basis for these emails and interest tags is your consent. We record the consent wording, version, time and show context in Mailchimp. New contacts receive an email asking them to confirm their subscription. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every marketing email or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew consent.
How long we keep information
We keep your subscription and show interests while you remain subscribed, until you opt out. Once you unsubscribe, we stop marketing to you. Unsubscribing does not automatically erase every record: a limited suppression record may remain in Mailchimp so that we respect your opt-out, along with evidence of consent where necessary to demonstrate compliance or resolve a dispute. We retain such records only while needed for those purposes. You can ask us to delete your information; we will explain any limited records we need to retain and why.
We keep privacy correspondence for as long as necessary to answer your request and demonstrate how it was handled. Hosting logs and backups follow our hosting provider’s configured retention arrangements. We review retained information against its purpose and remove information no longer needed.
Support and privacy requests
Our support form collects your email address, subject and message. We store these in our website database so authorised staff can read and respond to your request. They are not sent to Mailchimp and do not subscribe you to marketing. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries; for statutory privacy requests, it is compliance with our legal obligations. We keep messages while needed to resolve the request and demonstrate how we handled it, then delete them. Please avoid including sensitive information or identity documents unless we specifically request them through an appropriate channel.
Who receives your information
We use Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, part of Intuit) to manage our audience and send emails on our behalf. Our server sends your signup information to its API over an encrypted connection. This website does not keep a separate database of subscriber email addresses. Mailchimp also processes delivery, confirmation and unsubscribe activity. Email open and link-click tracking depends on our campaign settings; these must be reviewed before sending campaigns.
Hostinger hosts our website, with our server located in the United Kingdom. It processes technical connection information and server logs. Authorised staff and service providers may access information where needed to operate and secure our services. We may disclose information where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Ticket buttons lead to an external booking provider. That provider collects booking and payment information under its own privacy notice. We do not collect card details on this website.
International processing
Although our hosting server is in the UK, Mailchimp and the optional Google and Meta services may process information in the United States and other countries. Their data-processing terms describe transfer arrangements, including applicable adequacy frameworks and contractual safeguards. See Mailchimp’s data-processing terms, Google’s privacy policy and Meta’s privacy policy. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
Cookies and optional tracking
Essential session cookies protect signup, support and admin forms. We also store your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage for up to 180 days. These functions do not depend on optional tracking consent. Closing the cookie popup without choosing leaves optional tracking off.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand homepage visits and Meta Pixel to measure advertising and build audiences for relevant Facebook and Instagram advertising. These providers may receive device and browser information, online identifiers, IP addresses and page activity. Meta may associate visits with your Meta account. We do not send signup form fields or show-interest tags to these tracking services.
The optional scripts load only on the homepage, only when their IDs have been configured and you have accepted optional tracking. They do not load on signup, support, privacy or admin pages. Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_*; this integration sets a six-month cookie lifetime. Meta commonly uses _fbp and _fbc, typically for up to three months. Provider-side retention is separate from cookie expiry and depends on the provider and account settings.
Our legal basis for optional analytics and advertising is consent. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any public page to accept or reject optional tracking at any time. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent signup or browsing. Withdrawing permission stops future tracking through this integration and clears accessible first-party tracking cookies; it does not automatically delete information already received by providers. Your choices apply to this browser and device. Clearing browser storage means we will ask again.
Security and our other legal bases
We process essential technical and security information in our legitimate interests in operating a reliable website, preventing abuse and protecting information. Rate limits use keyed hashes of request identifiers rather than raw email addresses or IP addresses. Signup and support rate-limit records expire after one hour and admin login records after 15 minutes; expired records are removed when subsequent relevant requests run cleanup. Browser sessions protect forms and access to the admin area.
We also process information where necessary to meet legal obligations, including responding to applicable data-protection requests. We limit access to information and use encrypted connections for transmission.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy of information you provided. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and object to direct marketing at any time. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Contact us using the details above. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month; where the law permits an extension, we will explain why. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office without first contacting us.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our services or processing change and show the revision date above. If we introduce a new purpose requiring consent, we will ask before using your information for that purpose.
